About Us

We are two self-employed carers from Yeovil with many years of experience supporting elderly and vulnerable individuals in our community. We have spent our careers supporting people in their homes, and now we are proud to turn that care into something bigger for our community.

Over time, we saw a growing problem — some of our clients were struggling to access food and essential supplies, especially after hospital stays or during difficult times.

We quickly realised that existing food support systems, while well-intentioned, often relied on referral processes that left many older people unable to access help. For those who can’t leave their homes or collect food parcels themselves, these systems simply don’t work — leaving them in a very vulnerable position.

That is why we created The Pantry Pals Project — to provide free food and wellbeing parcels directly to those who need them, with no referrals or barriers.

As the need for support grew, so did our vision. We formed Get Me Home & Friends CIC, allowing us to expand our services even further — offering extra support around hospital discharge, pop-in visits, and shopping assistance.

Our small community shop, selling donated items like incontinence products at affordable prices, helps us fund and sustain these free services.

Everything we do is about kindness, dignity, and making sure no one in our community is left without help.

What is a CIC ?

CIC stands for Community Interest Company.

A CIC is a special type of not-for-profit organisation created to benefit the community rather than private individuals.

  • We are legally required to use all profits and assets for the good of the community we support.

  • We don’t have shareholders or private owners taking profits.

  • Everything we receive — whether from donations, sales, or fundraising — goes directly back into helping vulnerable people through our services.

In short, a CIC exists purely to make a positive difference, and we are proud to run Get Me Home & Friends CIC with honesty, care, and community at the heart of everything we do.
